How much does motion design cost for a SaaS company in 2026?
A 60–90 second SaaS explainer video from a quality agency runs $3,000 - $10,000 in 2026. Shorter motion ads sit at $500 - $2,000 each. On our monthly plans ($2,999 Startup or $5,499 Scale-ups) motion output is bundled with design capacity, which drops the per-asset cost dramatically once you're producing ten or more pieces a month.
How long does it take to produce a 60-second motion design video?
A 60-second motion piece ships in three to five weeks: one week for script and storyboard, one to two weeks for design and illustration, one to two weeks for animation and polish. With AI-assisted storyboarding and brand-trained models, we can compress that to ten to fourteen days for performance-marketing motion variants.
What is the difference between motion design and animation?
Motion design is graphic design with movement logos, icons, typography, data-viz, and UI elements in motion. Animation is closer to storytelling characters, narrative, emotional arcs, frame-by-frame craft. Motion design lives in ads, product demos, and UI micro-interactions. Animation lives in brand films and long-form video. You usually need both, in different moments.
Do you make Lottie animations for web and app UIs?
Yes Lottie is one of our go-to formats for in-product motion. Onboarding illustrations, empty-state animations, loading indicators, celebration moments, and icon transitions. Lottie files stay tiny (usually under 50KB), scale crisply on retina and mobile, and your engineers can drop them in with three lines of code. We deliver the source Figma/AE file too, so your team can edit without us.
Can motion design actually improve landing-page conversion rates?
Yes, when it's earning its keep. A product demo loop in the hero section typically lifts conversion 10–25% on B2B SaaS landing pages because it answers 'what does this actually do?' faster than a block of copy. Decorative motion that doesn't explain the product usually hurts it distracts and slows page load. We design motion that does a specific job.
What tools do you use After Effects, Rive, Lottie, Cinema 4D?
After Effects for most 2D motion and compositing. Rive for interactive UI animations that react to state (great for app onboarding). Lottie JSON for lightweight web and mobile delivery. Cinema 4D for 3D product renders and stylized scenes. Plus Runway, Veo, and Kling for AI-assisted footage and background generation. We pick the tool to fit the output, not the other way around.
Can you produce motion ads that match our existing brand system?
Yes and we start by translating your brand system into a motion system. That's the move most teams skip: defining easing curves, animation principles, timing rhythms, and type-in behaviors so every motion asset feels like it came from the same place. Once that system exists, producing 40 on-brand ad variants takes days, not weeks.
Do you handle voice-over, music, and sound design?
Yes end-to-end audio. Scripted voice-over (human or AI, depending on use), licensed music from Artlist and Musicbed, custom sound design for transitions and UI cues, and full audio mixing. For performance-marketing motion we often run 3–5 different audio tracks over the same visual to A/B which audio lifts conversion. Audio is usually half the performance signal.
How many motion variants can you produce per month on a retainer?
On the Startup plan (100 hours) you'll typically get one hero piece plus 15 - 20 motion ad variants a month. On Scale-ups (200 hours) that doubles one to two hero pieces plus 40+ variants. The volume math works because we build a reusable master file, then remix it into aspect ratios, languages, and test angles instead of animating each variant from scratch.
Static ads vs motion ads which actually perform better?
Motion ads outperform static on most paid social channels Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit by roughly 20 - 40% on CTR and engagement. Static still wins on display, retargeting banners, and some LinkedIn placements where load speed matters more. The highest-performing accounts use both: motion for cold-audience attention, static for warm-audience conversion.
